“On September 25, 2026, the market began sunny but chilly. Again attendance was down. Port Cares food bank storage issues have lessened so we were able to take any produce we could to the food bank. In total we delivered 815 pounds in two car loads. Ann and I also managed to picker gardens for about 37 pounds of that total. Thanks to Larry B, Lowell, and Ann for their assistance during the morning. We spoke to 15 visitors, 12 doors and 8 venders for a total of 35 people. Bea Kenny, the mayoral candidate came by to say hello. Take note, the the wet spring and late planting together with the warm fall, many produce items such as corn are just now ripening and coming onto the market. At least two growers mentioned that their best corn is just now being picked. Be sure you shop for produce from the Markey growers in order to get the best quality available!”
